Personalised children’s bedrooms made easy

FunToSee Room Décor is a unique concept that allows mums, dads and children to get creative when it comes to personalising a children’s room.

I have a phobia of bare walls; I love to give my home personality with photographs and artwork. And my daughter’s bedroom is no different.

But my fourteen-month-old’s tastes may be different in a couple of years and it seems silly to invest in paint, pictures etc when she will outgrow them relatively quickly, which is why FunToSee is such a great option.

The brand makes decorating easy with high quality room stickers that are removable, re-stickable and versatile enough to withstand bathroom splash zones and sticky finger marks.

Listen to baby’s heartbeat at home

One of the coolest things about being pregnant is being able to hear the heartbeat of the little being growing inside your belly.

It is a sure sign of life and is something to be treasured. Thanks to the gift of modern technology, Mums and Dads are now able to hear their baby’s heart beat from the comfort of a home environment, from as early as ten weeks.

What? you say. I promise, it’s true.

The Hi Bebe Fetal Doppler is a device often used by midwives. It can be rented from around £9.95 per month and purchased for prices ranging from £69.95.

Easy nappy changing with Mat Bag

The other day we were wandering around the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and I spotted a mum heading into a baby changing room with an oh-so-cute little mite attached to her hip.

As I gave the little cherub my best beaming smile, I noticed that cherub’s mum was not encumbered by the usual amount of paraphernalia that accompanies most mums into changing rooms – mostly spilling out of a monolithic nappy bag that is balancing precariously on a stooping shoulder.

This mum had a neat little parcel tucked under her arm. I was immediately interested.

The aforementioned parcel is in fact known by mums as a ‘mat bag.’

Protective head gear for infants

Head protection for baby!

When my daughter was learning to walk, her forehead looked like a Jackson Pollock painting; blue and yellow splashes of bruise were randomly spotted all over her poor little head.

As parents, we can only stop so many falls – at some point our babies need to learn about the nature of gravity.

For the mums and dads who are particularly anxious about the danger posed by the hard surfaces littering the pathway of a wobbly walker, a groundbreaking invention called Thudguard may be the answer you are looking for.

Thudguard is a half inch thick, impact tested, protective foam hat.

The easy way to take babies’ prints

Do you remember looking at your precious newborn baby’s gorgeous little hands and feet and marvelling at the wonder of their tiny size?

I do, and it is a memory I treasure. My daughter is fourteen months old and I still love to prod and squish her beautiful little appendages.

When Amelia was four months old, we decided that it was time to take a print of her hands and feet – for memory’s sake.

So I found some bright purple acrylic paint from my art box and, with the help of my hubby, smeared it on her hands and feet and took some keepsake prints. I can’t say that my daughter was particularly keen on the idea, and wiping the paint off before fingers were placed in mouth was rather a challenge but totally hysterical and probably more traumatic for us than for her.

Our little ‘stamp episode’ was a lot of fun but also a lot of trouble and not really all that baby friendly… There is another way!
