Best baby toy….

The Manhattan Toy Winkel is the perfect toy for a small baby. The Baby Winkel is a strange looking object and I was, in fact, attracted by its apparent randomness: it is made up of intertwining, multi-coloured, pliable plastic tubes that are held together by a plastic block that rattles. The Winkel is suitable for babies from 0 – 12 months and its soft plastic composition accommodates the uncoordinated movements of a baby.

I found the Winkel especially suited to my baby pre-6 months. Amelia loved chewing on the teething loops, which can be refrigerated to help soothe sore gums, and its intriguing shape made it very easy for her to grasp and play with. As my daughter has grown older she has lost interest in her Winkel but I am sure that, as she becomes more creative with her toys, she will find a way to incorporate it into her play.

The Baby Winkel is known to assist the development of fine motor skills.  The visual effectiveness of the Winkel encouraged Amelia to reach out and grasp it, and I took great pleasure in watching my daughter learn to twist and rattle the toy, and gradually, how to control hand her movements. The Winkel incorporates bright colours, creating lots of highly effective contrasts, making it a visually stimulating baby toy.
