The Maybe Baby iPhone app has been around for a while but the latest version (4.02) is currently available from Apple’s digital store.

The app is for those who want to conceive a child or practice ‘safe sex’; Maybe Baby has become a trendy form of contraception because it predicts your ovulation cycle and thus tells you on what days it is likely to be safe to have sex without running the risk of conceiving.

The app is able to tell you:

- on what date you may conceive a baby
- what the sex of your baby may be
- the date of your next period and ovulation

The new version Maybe Baby app for 2011 contains updated icons for the iphone 4 as well as iOS 4.2 support. It is compatible with the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, and requires iOS 3.1 or later in order to run.

The app is easy to use and, because we are never without our phones, charting fertility has become as simple as the click of a button.

Perhaps the app is indicative of a new technological era in which traditional forms of contraception will become out-dated?
