NEW Peter Rabbit book out next month!
My little daughter simply adores Peter Rabbit. She has listened to many other adventures enveloping the animals in the world of Beatrix Potter but Peter, beloved Peter, is her favourite. She sleeps with The Tale of Peter Rabbit under her pillow every night. The book even takes precedence over her cuddly Peter Rabbit teddy, which lives in her ‘teddy box’.
And I am pretty certain that my two-year-old is not the only child in love with lovely Peter. If this is your wee one, you might be excited to know that in celebration of the 110th anniversary of The Tale of Peter Rabbit, Oscar winning actress and screenwriter Emma Thompson has penned a brand new Peter Rabbit book called The Further Tale of Peter Rabbit.
Ms Thompson was inspired to set the story in Scotland and create this new character by her knowledge of Beatrix Potter’s childhood holidays there.
In the new Peter Rabbit book, Peter Rabbit squeezes under the gate into Mr McGregor’s garden and is carted away from his beloved Lake District to the Scottish lowlands.
This plucky little rabbit soon finds himself in the middle of a great big, brand new adventure and has the best fun.
Beatrix Potter’s The Tale of Peter Rabbit has never been out of print since it was first published in 1902 – her drawings are exquisite and her story even more so.
The follow on tale is due for launch in September (just in time for Christmas) and can be pre-ordered on Amazon for £10.
