Winter seems to have come into its own over the last few years, with proper snow deep enough to build snowmen and play snowballs in, and even the odd white Christmas!

Even though it seems to be the longest season, seeming to stretch sometimes from October to March, I have to admit that winter is my favourite season – despite the difficulties we can sometimes face in getting around in the ice and snow, I still love it when the time comes to start wrapping everyone up in tights and woolly jumpers.

Shopping for the winter season is always a pleasure – I love choosing new winter coats and boots for the children, and digging out all our old hats and scarves to go with them.

But there’s one thing I don’t like about winter – sore skin.

Whether it’s runny noses that are sore from being wiped all day long, or lips that are chapped from moving from central heating to cold winds, or that soreness around the lips and chin that children always seem to get in winter, it seems to become a staple part of the day to apply cream to various parts of each face morning and night!

So I never underestimate the value of a good all-round moisturiser that I can use on the children as well as on myself. I love Sudocrem – it’s perfect for soothing and protecting sore, chapped skin and lips.

So wrap them up warm, protect them from the cold, and enjoy the winter – it’s the longest season we have!
