I’m not sure about other mums and dads but the mere thought of long-haul flying with a small child (never mind children) sends my mind into a permanent state of ‘moan and groan.’
The luggage, the discomfort, the lack of sleep and the unpleasantness of parenting in a confined space with the aggravated flyers eye-balling your every move. *sigh*
It helps when airlines are considerate to the needs of families and their wee ones. Virgin Atlantic is one such baby friendly airline.
In a contest to find the best baby friendly airline against British Airways, easyJet, Flybe and Jet2, Virgin Atlantic won the Holiday Extras Customers’ Award for Best Airline for Travelling with Babies.
The award offers recognition to the airlines going that extra mile for family travellers. This recognition may come as a result of the ease of check-in, additional baggage allowance, menu options or a sympathetic and generally friendly, approachable crew.
More than 60,000 customers voted in the Holiday Extras Customers’ Awards.
So, kudos to Virgin for being a baby friendly airline; we’ll remember you when booking holiday flights.

Wow! this is a relief to know as we are jetting to Florida in 4 months on Virgin with our 3 year old and I am already having palpitations about flying on an airline in a confined space
