Best skincare winter protection
These days, the summer seems to come and go without us noticing, or sometimes not to come at all! But winter is a season that just seems to get longer every year.
I have to admit, though, that this isn’t bad news for me, because winter is my favourite season – I love wrapping up in big woolly jumpers and pulling on my boots and gloves like a suit of cosy armour!
For me, the feel of a chilly wind coming round the corner at the end of summer isn’t a cause for dismay – it’s an excuse to dig out my favourite winter coat!
And winter can be so romantic. When you think of romantic couples in catalogues, you’ll most likely see one of two scenes: walking along the white sands of a Caribbean beach, or cosying up by an open fire on a dark evening.
And let’s face it, we don’t often get the Caribbean weather to enjoy even the whitest of Britain’s beaches, so the open fire is our best bet for romance.
But there’s one thing I don’t like about winter – chapped skin. It’s usually my hands, my lips, or my nose – which is usually already sore from all the colds and flu!
More often than not, it’s all three, so I never underestimate the value of a good all-round moisturiser. What is the best skincare winter protection?
I love Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream – it is the perfect protector for lips, noses, cheeks, and cuticles.
And for sore skin after a snowball fight, or cold, red noses that need a little extra help, Sudocrem is both soothing and moisturising.
So wrap up warm, protect yourself from the cold, and get ready to enjoy the longest season of the year!
