Useful mobile travel app

Organising a holiday is a massive job – from booking flights and hotel rooms to reserving dinner dates and rental cars. Never mind the logistics of mapping routes and planning itineraries. There always seem to be papers in abundance – containing all important reference numbers and confirmations. Keeping track is… challenging.

Then add a couple of kids to the travel saga and ‘organised’ seems like a concept long forgotten in the recesses of an over-filled mind.

TripIt is a mobile travel app organiser made for families like mine – who need a little help – and for people who like to keep things easy. It’s an app that aims to simplify the internet experience by:

* Organising trip details into one master online itinerary — even if arrangements are booked at multiple travel sites.

* Automatically include maps, directions, and weather in their master itinerary.

New invention for sport enthusiasts

If you’re keen on tennis, jogging, bowls croquet (do people still play that?), Frisbee in the park, kicking the ball with your child… any sporting or leisure activity that requires a cap and shades to protect your skin and eyes from the sun’s rays, you may be interested in a new invention for sport enthusiasts called the iiClip.

The iiClip is a cap accessory which connects the cap and glasses in a way that dissipates the weight of the glasses whilst simultaneously stabilising the frame of the glasses. The effect is a feeling of weightlessness – as if your specs or shades are not even there.

The aim is to prevent the wearer from being distracted by glasses slipping or moving whilst engaged in activities.

Never mind the distraction; the annoyance of shades falling off (thanks to some wild leaping, hectic diving and heavy sweating on the volleyball court in my case) a-goner with the nifty little iiClip.

The iiClip is a follow up innovation from a previous product, the iiCap which is a specially designed cap providing the same comfortable ‘weightless’ function as the iiClip.

Avoid washing hair with Dry Shampoo

How many times have you woken up late and wished you could wash your hair quickly without having the ordeal of another 20 minutes spent drying it?

Ever since my friends and I started rubbing talcum powder in our hair as a way to avoid washing it in the shower after double PE, I’ve been looking for a way to give myself the occasional break from washing and drying my hair.

I remember the epiphany when I found out about dry shampoo for the first time at the tender age of 15, but the smell and the unflattering grey residue didn’t make it onto my list of grooming staples back then.

So now that I have grown up and find myself long of hair and short of time, I am a prime candidate for a new and improved version.
