Warm milk is commonly used as a remedy for sleeplessness; add a fragrant blend of detoxing and tummy-calming spices, and you have a recipe for peace at last.
1 cup whole milk or unsweetened nut milk (such as hemp, almond, or cashew)
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground turmeric
2 pinches of ground cardamom
Pinch of ground ginger (optional)
Pinch of ground nutmeg
Freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon virgin coconut oil or ghee
1 teaspoon raw honey
Simmer milk of choice in a small saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in spices. Grind in black pepper to taste. Continue to whisk until clumps dissolve. Add coconut oil, reduce heat, and stir for another 5 minutes. Remove from heat, leave to cool until just warm and spoon in honey (too hot a temperature will break down raw honey’s nutrition). Stir well. Enjoy.
