Cellulite; the bane of many a woman’s existence. It is undiscriminating in its attack, afflicting young and old, fat and thin, rich and poor. The amount of time that is wasted on cellulite – choosing clothes, cosmetics to try and hide its effect, and obsessing over how we look and how other people think we look.
So when scientists say they’ve got a cure, no matter how far-fetched we can’t help but listen.
The latest cellulite treatment comes in the form of a pair of leggings. Fo’ real, folks!
Created by Macom the leggings, which also come in a shorter version, include bioactive crystals that supposedly absorb body heat and return it back into the body in the form of infrared rays that promote collagen synthesis.
And what does this have to do with cellulite, exactly?
Well, the theory is that the aforementioned infrared rays then penetrate the skin and increase blood flow, which reduces the build-up of fat (in the area), allowing the lymph glands to expel the fat more efficiently and break down cellulite.
The fabric’s efficiency increases during exercise because the body’s temperature increases creating more infrared rays, thus more skin penetration, more blood flow and consequently less cellulite.
Sounds like magic.
But here’s the thing; experts aren’t buying it. The research that supports the theory behind these cellulite-busting leggings is thought to be flimsy – based on weak methodology, according to Dailymail.co.uk.
