If you don’t wear glasses, it might sound a bit strange that there are makeup tips out there for girls who wear glasses, but read on and it’ll soon become clear why there are.
Avoid the mascara mess
If your glasses sit quite close in to your face, then when you blink you can find that you end up with little black specks or smears on your lenses. This is annoying to say the least. To help guard against this, curl your lashes. It’s also a good idea to wear water-resistant mascara for even more protection against smears (waterproof is harder to remove and daily wear and removal of it can lead to lash damage).
See without specs
Clearly you can’t apply eye makeup while you’re wearing your glasses, but what you can do is use a magnifying mirror to help you see what you’re doing. Also, follow the “less is more” maxim – it’s easier to put more makeup on than it is to take some off if you’ve over-applied.
Match your liner to your frames
When your glasses have thicker frames, apply a thicker line of eyeliner to help make your eyes stand out. If you have glasses with thin frames, then a smaller line of liner, or a liner in a lighter colour, will echo this and maintain balance between your frames and your eye makeup.
Counteract the shadows
Glasses lenses can draw extra attention to any dark bags you may have under your eyes. To help reduce the darkness, choose a concealer which is a couple of shades lighter than your foundation. If this still doesn’t do the trick, a pink or peach corrector will counteract the purple-green tone which under-eye shadows have.
