The Five Hour Productivity Hack

Most of us would like to increase our productivity levels. Who wouldn’t want to be able to get more done each day? Well for some of the world’s most successful people (think Bill Gates, Oprah and Elon Musk) use this five-hour rule is one thing which helps them to get more done.

The Five Hour Productivity Hack

The rule is that you take an hour each weekday (hence the five hours total) and use it on dedicated practice and learning. It could be learning an instrument, reading, studying a skill that will help to advance you in your career goals – pretty much anything.

How will this help you to be more productive?

One of the big pluses of the five-hour hack is that it helps you to focus on your long term development, instead of on the short term list of things that you need to get through. The five-hour rule stops you from getting too bogged down in the present and helps to keep you focused on the future.

It also gives your brain a much-needed break! If you’ve spent all day concentrating on one thing you’re bound to be tired and losing concentration. They do say that a change is as good as a rest (admittedly not always, but in this case, it can be). Taking an hour to do something different will help you to return to your task list refreshed and reinvigorated.
